If you need to use a grade or effect on multiple clips, this is something you’ll want to know.
Shared Nodes are one of the many workflow tools in DaVinci Resolve that help you apply a change to multiple clips.
They can be used for your overall look, an OFX plugin, or just about anything. And they’re easy to use
This video from Chris’ Tutorials will show us:
- The challenges with copying grades between clips
- How to save a node as a Shared Node
- Adding a Shared node to a clip
- How to make changes to a Shared Node
- Uses for Shared Nodes
And that’s all there is to it!
How do you use shared nodes?

Hi,
Thanks for showing the shared nodes. But why don’t you use the option of node groups? Is that not faster while giving the same result?
You can use either for similar purposes if you want to. But shared nodes can even be used within node groups, or only on certain shots within a group. It depends on what works for your project.
