Want to navigate your edit timeline more precisely?
You may want to use timecode. If you’re making an edit based on client feedback with an exact timecode, you don’t need to try to scrub there with the mouse.
You can just you your keyboard!

- Selecting the timeline viewer timecode
- Inputting desired timecode
- Jumping backwards or forwards relative to current time
In order to select the timecode box from the keyboard, the shortcut is the = key.

This didn’t work for me until I right-clicked on the timecode and selected “Record Timecode” from the popup. Then all good!
I’m using Davinci Resolve Studio 18.1.4. Maybe the default value in the popup has changed.
I think you’re right Kevin. Didn’t work for me until I followed your tip. Works perfectly now, and the time code value makes much more sense now.
