When using DaVinci Resolve Project Server in a professional environment, having regular backups are a good idea.
Within Resolve, you can do these manually but for a post house with several users and databases, this could become time consuming.
A handy script can help you automate this task which could save time backing up, and save a lot more if anything happens to your database.
Note that you’ll need to use the terminal for some commands, but it’s easy to follow along.
If you’re a single user just using a Blackmagic Cloud or local storage for your project library, it may be easier just to do your own backups manually from within Resolve.
In this video from Editing Playbook, you’ll learn about:
- Create a folder for syncing
- Downloading Seth Goldin’s syncing script from GitHub
- Installing the script
- Backing up the database

Hi, this script is for Project server on PostgreSQL 13.
Do you have a solution for us that is still on 9.5 ? 🙂
I don’t, but check with Seth, the creator of the script to see if he has other versions!
