Color management is one of the most important skills to master when you’re learning color grading.
Essentially, it’s the process of translating what the camera saw into what your monitor can display.
And often, it will include an intermediate step of how your color tools work
Being confident that your colors are display correctly on your monitor and appear similar to how they were shot will save you time and stress.
It also gives you a foundation for matching various cameras.
Learning about color spaces may seem overwhelming at first, but you don’t need to be a color scientist.
The important thing is to achieve a technically correct or normalized image, and then continue your grading process.
