Once you understand primary grading tools, you’ll want to get to know secondaries.
While primaries affect the whole image, secondaries refer to color tools that affect a portion of the image.
That may be a spatial adjustment with a mask, or a selection of just a certain color.
In DaVinci Resolve you can try power windows and qualifiers to make selections for adjustments.
And you can also use some custom curves to affect a limited number of hue, luma, or saturation values.
