DaVinci Resolve now includes a separate app you can use to generate proxies.
Why?
First of all, you should be using proxies. Yes you. Do it!
If you have any lag while editing, that will slow you down. It’s best to edit using files that your computer can play more easily.
You can generate proxies within Resolve, but by using this app you can create proxies before you create your project or add the media. You can also have it run in the background as you edit.
In this video from Team 2 Films, you’ll learn about:
- 00:58 Generating Proxies
- 02:30 Using Proxies
- 02:58 Colour Grading
- 03:29 File Management
