Are you using timeline backups?
DaVinci Resolve has the ability to save versions of your timeline on a regular basis.
So if you ever make a mistake or want to see how you had things previously, you can!
My preference is to manually duplicate timelines and have a new version for major changes, at least when I’m working on long narrative projects.
Though for short form and other types of videos I stick to one timeline. So this feature is a great way to make sure you don’t lose your work!
In this video from Chris Roberts Video Production & Training, you’ll learn how to:
- 00:27 Find Current Timeline In Media Pool
- 01:10 Manually duplicating timeline
- 02:10 Restore Timeline Backups

Appreciate the workflow tips.
Typically the mistake of not setting the bin/destination “before” recording can be an issue, especially finding the recording later in the event you accidentally record while in a Power Bin.
