DaVinci Resolve now includes Universal Scene Description tools.
If you haven’t worked in 3D modeling before, it’s a new-ish format that’s designed to make it easy to pass models seamlessly between apps.
With Fusion’s excellent compositing tools, this will make it much easier to work collaboratively in 3D projects between artists (or by yourself) working in different apps.
In this video from Casey Faris, you’ll learn about:
- What it is and what is possible with USD
- Importing a USD file
- Adding additional USD nodes
- Renderer options
- Creating a scene with a merge
- Adding lighting
- Combining the 3D model onto a live action background
