Color Management and Faster Grading Process

There are plenty of tutorials on how to use nodes on the color page, but what about the full grading process?

There are steps to be done before you grade – namely, color management. Especially when you’ll be matching several different cameras.

This will help you avoid doing manual transforms from getting your image from LOG into Rec709 or your display color space.

In this video from Qazi, you’ll see:

  • Turning on Resolve Color Management
  • Determining cameras used
  • Applying input color space
  • Primary corrections

This overview shows that it’s not just applying a couple nodes to an image. Rather, you’re working with multiple clips on the same timeline and have to bring them together.

Are you using Resolve Color Management yet? What do you think?
