Resolve for iPad is a big step forward for putting professional tools in the hands of creators on the go.

At the moment, the iPad version only sports the Cut and Color pages. More may be added in future versions.

Who is it for?

If you’re a professional colorist who demands calibrated monitors and a pro-level workstation, obviously this isn’t for you.

I think this release is about getting a quality set of tools to the average content creator.

The social media specialist creating video content on the go.

Reporters putting stories together on location.

Corporate videographers already shooting with a few mobile devices.

Students with limited hardware.

Among many others!

This will allow them to get a project done on the hardware they’re already using, or let them do it faster on the go.

They could shoot and edit a whole project on the iPad, or continue working on a desktop project as they travel.

Hardware Requirements

If you’re planning on downloading, there are some hardware requirements so it won’t work on older iPads.

This app requires Requires iPadOS 16.0 or later and a device with the A12 Bionic chip or later.

And for best performance, you’ll likely want to be using one of the latest iPad Pro models.

Cost & Versions

DaVinci Resolve for iPad is FREE to download!

You can upgrade to DaVinci Resolve Studio for use of Resolve OFX and other advanced features with an In-App purchase of $94.99.

Existing DaVinci Resolve Studio licenses cannot be used to unlock Studio Features on the iPad.

  1. I am unable to see or find the in-app purchase of Resolve Studio. I am using a 12.9’ iPad Pro M1 2TB. is there something I am missing?
